Rest & Relaxation Weekend: A Forest Invitation

With Eve Cook, Karen Lucas RYT and Stacy Mathews

May 1 - 3, 2026

This spring, Elohee offers a one-of-a-kind Rest & Relaxation Weekend, weaving Forest Therapy into a nourishing weekend of rest and renewal.

Compared to our standard R&R weekends, this Rest & Relaxation Weekend will offer an increased variety of optional activities including Forest Therapy, Yoga, Meditation, a Guided Nature Hike, a Bonfire, and more! You will also have an opportunity to add on Massage Therapy or Reiki appointments. All of this alongside our miles of hiking trails and Natural Reflecting Pond with a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains showing their beautiful spring colors.

Forest Therapy, or shinrin yoku, is a mindful, sensory‑rich immersion in nature designed for all levels—whether you’re an experienced practitioner looking to deepen your connection, a nature lover seeking renewal, or a beginner curious about slowing down in a supportive way. This practice reduces stress, restores balance, and creates space for clarity and insight.

During this guided sit spot practice, you’ll walk mindfully among the trees, breathe deeply while you awaken the five senses, and attune to the subtle rhythms of the forest. Those familiar with sit‑spot practice often notice refined sensory awareness, enhanced creativity, and a natural meditative state that supports emotional and mental ease.

As part of the experience, students will participate in group discussion and have the opportunity to create a nature mandala using elements from the land, expressing creativity and inner reflection. The session concludes with a tea ceremony, bringing all five senses together in a shared moment of gratitude and mindful presence.

Meals include arrival dinner on Friday through departure lunch on Sunday, and we’re happy to provide healthy, delicious, and wholesome food for your enjoyment. Please click on the “Register Now” button to see pictures of our lodging options and to register.
