Location & Transportation

How do I get to Elohee?
You can find directions to Elohee here

Do you offer shuttle service from the airport?
Elohee does not offer transportation to/from the airport.

Transportation options from Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport to Elohee and return:

  1. Car Rental
  2. Airline Limousine Service: Website: airlinelimousineservice.com; phone: 770-885-5429
  3. Action Limousine: Website: actionlimousine.com; phone: 770-507-1727
  4. Airport Star Shuttle: www.airportstarshuttle.com; jadiy@hotmail.com; 770-653-8873; Javed Yaqub
  5. Kaafi Aaadan Taxi Cab Service: 404-519-9272 kaafi59@gmail.com

We recommend checking all of the above services, as prices can vary greatly. The most cost-effective option may be to rent a car.

Uber and Lyft will drive to Elohee and offers an inexpensive option. However, we are in a rural area, and would have to arrange with local uber/lyft drivers ahead of time to bring you back to the airport. Sometimes people make friends during the retreat and can hitch a ride with them back to Atlanta. There is MARTA, a metro train, that goes from the north end of the city directly to the airport.

What is the nearest airport?
We are about a 2-hour drive from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

What are the current COVID requirements?
We want everyone to feel safe and comfortable. However, we ultimately leave it up to the facilitator to set the Covid guidelines for their retreat.  Whereas the requirement for vaccination needs to be communicated to the participant before signing up, the Covid testing requirements can be updated as the retreat dates approach and the Covid situation changes.

We follow normal sanitation protocols in the kitchen and dining areas that meet health code standards. We have hand sanitizers in meeting spaces and the dining room.

What’s the weather like?

Yes! Our single twin bed rooms with shared bathroom only share a bathroom with one other guest. When you register for your room, you’ll be able to enter your requested bathroom-mate in the comments section.

What does camping entail?
Elohee does provide primitive camping sites upon approval. Each camping site is located in the woods, consisting of a 10×10 pad for your tent, and is a short walk to the retreat facilities. After approval, all campers are required to bring their own gear and have outdoor preparations made in case of inclement weather. Fires are not allowed at the campsites. Elohee provides a shared bathroom and shower in a nearby cottage.

It is our goal to fully educate you on the amenities prior to approval for camping. In our experience, some campers aren’t aware that the campsites are primitive (no electric or water hookup) and have not enjoyed their stay to the fullest due to weather conditions of rain, temperature, etc.  If you are comfortable with primitive camping and experienced and would like to explore this option further, let us know.

Do the cottages have heating/air conditioning?
Yes, each cottage is equipped with air conditioning, heat, ceiling fans, and adjustable shades.

Linens, towels, shampoo, conditioner, and soap are provided in each cottage on Bald Mountain and at Thanksgiving House. Hair dryers are also available.

Yoga mats, blankets and other props are available at all venues, but you may prefer to bring your own.

I live near Elohee, do I need to stay on property for a retreat?
Allowing commuters is up to the discretion of the facilitator. Please email info@elohee.org if you are interested in commuting. However, we do like to recommend staying on property for the full retreat experience.
