Sarah 2 Kathy Woerner

Sarah walked into her first yoga class over 15 years ago. Although she loved the power “workout”
immediately, due to the responsibilities of raising her sons and working outside the home, she struggled
to establish a regular practice. Sarah continued to be called back to the mat over the years. As her
practiced developed, she gravitated toward slow-flow and Yin style practices.

Fast forward to 2018, Sarah was preparing for a two-week trip to India to learn the origins of Ayurveda
and Yoga, so she began searching for a local studio to establish a more consistent practice. She found a
home on her mat with the Horizon Healing Center Community. Before leaving for India, she attended a
lecture and was introduced to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and everything started to click into
place. Yoga brought healing to Sarah through mind, body and spirit connection and it’s why she had been drawn back to a yoga practice over the years.

Sarah completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Horizon Healing Center in March 2020 and
has since completed her 300-hour YT Training. Sarah is registered with Yoga Alliance. With an
education and background in nonprofit leadership, she dreams of opening a yoga outreach program to
share the healing power of yoga to underserved populations with a trauma-informed approach.

Currently, Sarah works as a grant writer and finance director for housing nonprofit in north Fulton
County. Along with her love of yoga, she enjoys quality time with her family, giving back to the
community, anything involving nature from hiking to kayaking to playing in the garden and listening to
live music.
